For the last couple of months I have been planning my son’s first birthday party and to me planning this event is the only way to not cry! I can’t believe that a year of his life has just flown by. Anyways back to the planning, I have decided that the theme is a “Barnyard Birthday.” I made a list of the people we wanted to invite and I looked on Vistaprint to see about ordering invitations.

Invitation

This is what I ended up ordering, I think that it is pretty cute! I’ve sent the invitations out and now I am into making as many barnyard themed decorations as I can. I have started making the “Happy Birthday” sign. I went to Lens Mill store and purchased different colours of felt, different plaid fabrics and jean material. I brought everything home and gathered up some tools I had at home. Here is what you need to make your own barnyard themed “Happy Birthday” sign.

Materials

I used the brown felt to cut into squares as the background of each letter and then used the different fabrics to stencil out each letter. Here is the “H” to give you an idea of what I’m talking about.

Letter

I’ve finished cutting out all the letters and now I’m using my trusty glue gun to glue the letters into place. Once I have that finished I will glue all the letters along a rope and I will have my barnyard “Happy Birthday” sign! I will post a picture of the sign once I have it completed.
